Frequently asked questions

Stained glass is very fragile and should be treated like a fine art work. If cared for correctly its beauty can be preserved for years to come.

How should I care for my stained glass artwork?

When handling the artwork, remember its fragility and display in a safe location in order to reduce the possibility of accidental damage.

Using a soft cloth dust the piece lightly on a weekly basis. if required, use a very soft bristle brush to remove any debris that the dusting may have left behind.

It should be noted that abrasive materials and chemical or acid based cleaners must NEVER be used as they will damage the artwork.

Does your artwork contain lead?

Yes, lead-tin solder and pure lead came framing are used when creating the artwork. It is therefore highly recommended that hands are washed thoroughly after handling.

Over time the lead within the artwork may oxidize (a powdery white appearance) and begin to look a little dull. If this does occur a light polish should both brighten the glass and solder and remove the oxidization.
